Dr. Amar Bukhari is the Associate Chair Department of Medicine, Chief of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at St. Peter’s University Hospital (SPUH) in New Brunswick, NJ. Dr. Bukhari received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1987 from Rutgers College. He completed his Medical Doctorate from UMDNJ, New Jersey Medical School in 1991. After completing his Internal Medicine Residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick in 1994, he went on to do his Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the same hospital.

Dr. Bukhari’s present work includes a clinical practice in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine, administrative work and teaching responsibilities at the SPUH. He is Chair of the Ethics Committee and has a particular interest in end of life care across the cultural and religious spectrum. In addition to his clinical and administrative work, he enjoys teaching students, physicians in residency training, nurses and anyone else who will listen.
